Principal & Senior Partner

Debra Alexander (Deb) is an organization development (OD) consultant with more than 20 years’ experience in designing and conducting projects for organizations in the public and private sectors. This experience includes conducting organizational assessments, developing policies and programs, and coaching senior managers in leading change and managing transitions. She has provided training and consulting services in developing high performing individuals, teams, leaders and organizations in both the U.S. and internationally.
She has served in progressively responsible Federal senior level positions.  She also served as a senior coach with the Excellence in Government Fellows Program where she designed and developed the program framework and content, coached other coaches, and provided experiential learning experiences. She is currently on the faculty of Georgetown University’s Organizational Consulting and Change Leadership Program.

Debra Alexander helped grow ACT from a Federal sector training firm to a company that offers consulting, coaching and HR advisory services to a range of public and private-sector customers, including nonprofit, union and educational institutions. Throughout the course of the pandemic, clients relied upon ACT to navigate complicated issues involving strategic planning in a constantly changing and unpredictable environment. Today, Deb continues to position ACT at the forefront of change as organizations manage with a hybrid workplace, a multi-generational workforce and customer base and the rapid emergence of artificial intelligence. Deb believes that “relationships matter and it’s important to protect, support and heal the workforce, customer and stakeholder relationships important to an organization’s success.”

Consulting services included enhancing individual, team, leadership and organizational performance, establishing metrics for success and assessing results, developing strategic plans and facilitating whole system change. Deb uses a wide range of methodologies including developing policies, guides, and handbooks; identifying competencies; and validating individual and organizational performance measures.  She conducts system-wide level interventions using survey feedback, focus groups, interviews, briefings and large group meetings. She plans, facilitates and coaches action learning teams, conferences, and retreats, and conducts management inquiries and culture audits.  In addition, she provides executive coaching, team development, and alternate dispute resolution services. Deb has personally trained more than 100,000 participants in organizations ranging in size from 20 to 20,000 representing a wide variety of work environments and occupations. She consistently receives high ratings and positive responses to training she conducts on sensitive and complex topics.
